So yesterday started at 7am cleaning windows in Lincoln. The temperature was -6 so not good.
The pole system was out of the question, due to working in the hight street. I felt the large amount of water that would have been used, would just freeze and cause risk to shoppers later that day. Ladders were not possible. Firstly because they were frozen solid, but mainly because the rungs were deadly and slippery. So, I decided to use an extended pole, with applicator and squeegee. Amazingly, the windows didnt freeze when i applied the water, so all went well. Oh, apart from my hands turning blue, and feeling like lumps of ice within 15 mins. Feel free to tell me of your window cleaning experiences in this cold snap. Window cleaning this week is not looking good. The weather forecast is saying snow and ice, plus minus temperatures brrrrr. So what can window cleaners do to keep working and the money rolling? Well, my top tip would be to offer customers the chance to have their INSIDE windows cleaned this month. This is a good idea if the bad weather is here for 2 weeks or more. Not earning for 2 weeks or more is just not good for the bank manager. Other ideas are to just clean the down stairs windows, thus avoiding ladder work. If you have the water fed pole system, you may find the pipes frozen, so again, these tips may be of use? Feel free to suggest other ways So this week window cleaning in lincoln and louth? Well its been a good one regarding the weather. Little or no wind chill, and apart from Wednesday, the general temperature has been quite high for January.
However, there was a low point on Thurday. Beware Nettleham, as my van was broken into over night. Nothing was stolen, as there was little to steal. But the doors on the back of my van we broken, as was the glass. So that will be costing me several hundred pounds. The police have been told, and hopfully, the mindless idiots who did this will be caught tut. Anyway, lets hope the good weather stays, although snow is forcast, so this is unlikely, but you never know. Untill next week.........bye!!!! So then end of this week is nearly upon us already. Several new quotes have already been submitted and we are waiting and hoping to get the go ahead for a rather large new window cleaning contract for 2013.
I'll keep you updated on that one :- ) RING 07900 271 865 - Remember to ask for your free window cleaning quotes in Lincoln, Louth and Skegness for 2013. Order in January and remember all cleaning includes frames, sills and doors.

Saturday will end the week on a high working in Lincoln. With the weather so warm for this time of year, us window cleaners cant ask for more really. We've even had sunny days, and the lack of wind has meant the chill factor has been kept to a minimum. Happy days for 2013. |
